Easter Picture books

Books made a great addition to any Easter basket. There are lots of different Easter books, so I have compiled a list of our favorites to read this time of year.

Why should the Easter Bunny get to participate in all the fun? Join Peter Easter Frog as he carries his own basket of eggs through the farm. You can even sing parts of the book which makes it more engaging.

Otter is so excited for Easter morning. He wakes up to Easter treats which he can’t wait to tell Otter Keeper all about. Otter’s mood changes when he finds out he has to share his treats with his other friends. Self-control is hard but it is fun to see Otter become Easter Otter for his friends.

The Good Egg is back for another round of ‘eggcitment’ in the store with the other eggs. While he enjoys the peace and quiet when the other eggs left the carton, he gets nervous when the store will open soon and they aren’t back.

Peter Rabbit is an all time favorite classic this time of year. You can start out with the first original story or pick one of egg hunt stories. Don’t miss out on the story of Peter, Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail.

If you are looking for a book to introduce your little one to the gospel and why we celebrate Easter, we love this board book The Story of Easter. The cut out pages are fun and illustrations are bright. It’s the perfect length to keep your little ones attention while reading the story of Jesus coming into Jerusalem, all the way to Jesus rising again.

No Bunnies Here! isn’t an specifically an Easter book but since it has bunnies, will be around more in the spring season. This bunny tries his best to keep a wolf from eating all the bunnies in their town. It is silly, colorful, and perfect spring read aloud.

I grew up reading the series, How Many Bugs in a Box books and love them. This newer one, Easter Eggs is perfect for little ones who love flap books. Each page has different colored egg with a different unique bug and ends with a bigger pop-out. It’s a perfect simple book that is smaller in size to fit in an Easter basket.

Turkey is at it again trying to celebrate Easter with the humans while not being dinner. He wants to join in the egg hunt but will need a disguise to enter. This series is full of giggles and we always love adding another Turkey book to our holiday books.

Books are the perfect addition to any Easter basket and I hope you come to love these colorful springtime books as much as I do.
